Handicap is a bet on the result of a match, taking into account the advantage, which is expressed in a certain number of goals scored. If the value is with a minus sign, then the specified number is subtracted from the team’s goals, and if it is with a plus sign, then it is added.

There are different types of odds, and they are calculated in their own way. Let us consider each one and, using examples, we will understand how the calculation takes place.

Classic handicap

These are the standard handicaps that are used the most. They can also be called half-sized – 0.5, 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 4.5, 5.5 and so on.

This handicap can either win or lose.

For example, -2.5 means that the team must win with a score difference of at least three goals (3: 0, 4: 0, 4: 1, 5: 0, etc.). If the success is with an advantage of one or two goals, there is a draw or a defeat, then the bet will not work.

To pass the handicap +2.5 is necessary so that the team does not concede with an advantage of more than three goals. The handicap value is added to the real score of the match, and then the calculation takes place. That is, if the game ended with the result 1: 3, then taking into account the handicap +2.5 – it will turn into 3.5: 3.

A whole handicap

This is a handicap that has a return option (calculation with a factor of 1.0). When the handicap value matches the difference in the account, you get your stake back.

For example, handicap -1 is returned when the selected opponent wins by exactly one goal (1: 0, 2: 1, 3: 2, and so on). With a larger success, the bet will be played, and if there is a draw or loss of the team, then the deal will not go through.

It’s simple:

  • handicap breaks – win;
  • handicap matches – return;
  • the handicap does not break through – a loss.

Only the presence of a return distinguishes a whole handicap (1.0, 2.0, 3.0, etc.) from the classic one.

To understand the essence of the exodus, let’s look at three examples.

Handicap -1.25 . The deal will be successful if the team beats the opponent by at least two goals (2: 0, 3: 0, 4: 0, 3: 1, 5: 3, etc.).

If the superiority is in exactly one ball (1: 0, 2: 1, 3: 2, and so on), then one part of the outcome will not go. Let’s say you bet 400 rubles. On handicap -1 there will be a refund (get 200 rubles back), but -1.5 will not work. You will go into negative territory, but you will only lose half of your funds.

In case of a draw or defeat of the indicated opponent, the bet loses.

Handicap -1.75 . The bet will be held if the team succeeds in three goals (3: 0, 4: 0, 5: 0, 5: 2, etc.).

If the opponent turns out to be stronger with an advantage of exactly two goals, then the handicap -1.5 will be broken, and a return will occur at -2. You will get half the amount back.

With the minimum win, draw or failure, the bet loses.
